About the Bride: Challen grew up in Sylvania, Ohio and graduated from Maumee Valley Country Day School in Toledo, Ohio in 2000. Her family includes her mom and dad, Jeff & Wanda, and sister, Pamela. Challen attended Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Art in 2004. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Art Education. In the spring of 2007 she received a teaching license for K-12 Art Education and works part-time at Sylvan Elementary School as an Art Teacher. Challen also works at Mancy’s Blue Water Grille as a server. In her free time she likes to spend time with friends & family and create works of art using several different mediums (recently completing a metalsmithing jewelry course at the Toledo Museum of Art with her sister).
About the Groom: Jeremy grew up in Mansfield, Ohio and moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1993 where he graduated from Emmanuel Baptist Christian High School in 1997. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toledo in December, 2004 with a major in Economics and a minor in Business Administration. Jeremy was awarded a graduate assistantship from the University of Toledo’s Department of Economics where he graduated with a Masters of Arts in Economics in 2007. His family includes his mom and step dad, Kathy & Ken; siblings, Matt, Kim, and Ken (and families). Jeremy currently teaches Micro and Macroeconomics at Owens Community College and ITT Technical Institute. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys discussing economics, spending time with friends & family, playing videogames, and playing guitar.
Our Story: We were set up as “the perfect match” to go to a summer concert with a small group of mutual friends in the fall of 1999, and have been thankful ever since, even though Jeremy is not a big fan of Tori Amos and Alanis Morrisette!!! We knew very soon after meeting that this relationship was different from all of the rest and that we would marry each other someday. Our first date was at a dimly lit, romantic Italian Restaurant (Mancy’s Italian), where seven years later we returned and Jeremy proposed on bended knee in front of the whole restaurant. Since then, we have been going crazy planning the wedding and getting everything organized. We are very excited to have the perfect dream wedding & reception, paradise honeymoon, and most important of all: to begin our new life together as Husband and Wifey!!!
The Wedding: The wedding ceremony will take place at Cedar Creek Church in Perrysburg, Ohio on July 26, 2008. It will be followed by a celebration in The Courtyard at the Navy (Navy Bistro) at the docks in downtown Toledo which will include dinner and dancing into the evening.
The Honeymoon: The couple will honeymoon in St. Lucia at the beautiful Sandals Regency Resort. Set along a half-mile crescent-shaped beach, this 210-acre enclave spares no detail to bring visitors an infinitely romantic getaway.
A Special Message: “Because of our hectic schedules, the greatest gift we have is the time we spend together. Therefore, we have chosen the remote, tropical island of St. Lucia as our honeymoon destination. There we hope to bask in the slow paced Caribbean atmosphere, small peaceful villages, and miles of quiet pristine beaches as we celebrate our new life together.
