Galapagos Islands Oct 23 - Nov 01, 2009
My most recent travel adventure took me to the Galapagos Islands with Lindblad Expeditions on the National Geographic Endeavour. As an Adventure Travel Specialist the Galapagos had been on my list for years and it exceeded my expectations at every turn. Not only were the naturalists and guides top of the line with Lindblad, but the ship’s staff made everything run flawlessly.
It is an unbelievable experience to be so far removed from civilization that the animals have no fear of human interaction. To be able to be so up close and personal with wildlife that you cannot find anywhere else on earth will stay with me forever. I was able to hike, kayak, and snorkel daily as well as take zodiac (or “panga”) rides or glass bottom boat rides throughout the trip. Walking along the shore with the sea lions, kayaking alongside sea turtles, and swimming with Galapagos penguins are just a few of my favorites memories from the trip.
